Executive Director Announce Decision to Step Down
Kathleen Norman has announced her decision to step down as the Executive Director of Stafford County Economic Development. Norman has applied to the Peace Corps and anticipates her placement starting this fall. She will find out later this spring when and where she is being sent.
“The Peace Corps is something that I’ve wanted to do since high school and now feels like the right time,” Norman said. “I have gained valuable experience during these past two years working at Stafford County Economic Development. There are a lot of good things happening in Stafford County both inside and outside of the organization. The board and I will do everything we can to ensure a smooth transition as a new executive director is hired and takes over the position in the coming months.”
Norman first served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the organization in 2019. She was hired as the assistant director in December 2020 and promoted to executive director in January 2022. She will continue in the role for the next several months as a replacement is found and trained.
