Competition Components
Teams are required to submit a written executive summary and do an in-person formal presentation. Teams are encouraged to make a tradeshow display, this is optional and not part of scoring at the local competition.
The Executive Summary is a written business summary, in PDF format, including details of how the business intends to operate. An executive summary is similar to a business plan, but usually shorter, covering much of the same information in summarization.
The Formal Presentation is a four-to-six-minute presentation where each business will share details of its product or service with a panel of judges, usually in the form of visual slides.
The Tradeshow Display is optional at Stafford County YEC but a key component at the State Competition. At this local competition, businesses will have the opportunity to pitch their product or service through a tradeshow booth as a visual and informational aid. Tradeshow Displays will be set up and available for viewing by attendees on competition day.
