Hello, Beccy is back in town!
Hi, I am Beccy Tanner. I’m a fourth-generation Stafford County resident who grew up on a farm near Radium. For more than four decades I was a Kansas journalist, working the longest amount of time at The Wichita Eagle.
But now, I am semi-retired. I moved back to St. John in 2018 because I missed my hometown. It was time to come home.
I still am incredibly busy — freelancing articles for the Kansas Leadership Center Journal and KANSAS! magazine. In my spare time, I teach Kansas History-related classes at Wichita State University and lead bus trips on the back roads of Kansas.
The past two years, I have been working at the St. John Homecoming Hall and Museum on the west side of the square. I am passionately interested in preserving the history of our county.
Now, for the reason I am on this blog. I’ve recently joined the team at the Stafford County Economic Development office to assist with their social media and marketing. I hope to see you around the county.
