On Tuesday, December 15, Stafford County Economic Development and the Economic Development Housing Committee held a ceremonial groundbreaking for a single-family home at the corner of St. Paul and Prairie Ave. in Stafford. We are partnering with Housing Opportunities Inc. for this project which has an expected completion date of May 2016.
Stafford County Economic Development has been awarded a $3,900 grant towards constructing and renovating rental housing to address a severe shortage of modern and affordable workforce housing in a county where the average age of a house is 86 years old…according to the county appraiser.
The City of Stafford is moving right along with the active transportation policy that was started in 2013 by past Program Director, Sydney Blanton, and her Healthy Communities Initiative Leadership Team.
