Kathleen talked about the state-wide youth entrepreneurship challenge and the Stafford County teams that competed. She also gave updates on housing and childcare projects.
Stafford County Economic Development, in association with the Network Kansas E-Community Partnership, will be housing Stafford County YEC on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 as part of the 2022-2023 Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (YEC) series.
Stafford County YEC (Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge) was held Wednesday, March 23rd, at 11:00 AM at the Stafford County Annex. Teams of Stafford County youth entrepreneurs presented four-minute presentations and answered questions posed by a panel of three judges. A business plan executive summary was sent in prior to the competition and scored.
EcoDevo’s Board of Directors has decided to discontinue the Remote Work Program.
There was some success with the program, but it was never really utilized as envisioned. The board feels it is better to put time and energy toward other priorities at this time. Workspace 311 will continue to operate as a coworking space.
Kathleen Norman, Assistant Director of Stafford County Economic Development, is facilitating Empowerment Training with the Jobs of America’s Graduates-Kansas (JAG-K) Program at Stafford High School. She has been coming to the school weekly and will wrap up this nine-week pilot session in early December.

Stafford County Economic Development announces the completion of this spring’s Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative (ELI) class that provides the Ice House Entrepreneurship Program to ignite the entrepreneurial mindset and cultivate an entrepreneurial culture.
Stafford and Pawnee County Economic Development in association with the Network Kansas E-Community Partnership, announces the Ice House Entrepreneurship Program will be offered in Larned and St. John.
Grant recipients, Kevin & Michell Welch of The Welch Farm, an event and catering venue outside Macksville, recently returned from a Colorado-based business improvement “Destination Bootcamp.” The grant was funded by the Stafford County Economic Development E-Community Partnership with Network Kansas.
Stafford County Economic Development is sponsoring nine Stafford County students to participate in the 3rd annual Central Kansas Youth Entrepreneurship Competition (CKYEC) that will be held at the Kinsley Junior/Senior High School Auditorium. Five of those students are competing as one team, and the other four as individuals.
