Four rural Kansas communities have recently been awarded a total of $135,000 through the first round of the Kansas Health Foundation’s Kansas Healthy Food Initiative (KHFI).

Grant recipients, Kevin & Michell Welch of The Welch Farm, an event and catering venue outside Macksville, recently returned from a Colorado-based business improvement “Destination Bootcamp.” The grant was funded by the Stafford County Economic Development E-Community Partnership with Network Kansas.

Stafford County Economic Development is excited to announce the timeline for opening the Stafford County Marketplace that will be located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and 5th Avenue in St. John, Kansas.

Stafford County Economic Development has been notified that it was awarded a $780,800 Community Economic Development grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Stafford County Economic Development and the City of St. John announced today that a Letter of Intent with White’s Foodliner has been signed to establish a grocery store in St. John.
